A shocking discovery

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Bob, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said,
'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

Judge not!

Remember...Just going to church doesn't make you a
Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

Every saint has a PAST...
Every sinner has a FUTURE!
Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil...
It has no point!

  1. GG, do you know that for the whole of today, the only song that's been ringing in my head is "We fall down" - Donnie McClurkin and it gave me a nudge that I made my facebook status "Peter denied Jesus but Jesus did not deny him a second chance"

DO you know that song? If you don't, pls check it out on youtube.

This post is just awesome... We'd be amazed for sure when we get to heaven.

  2. This makes sense because a lot of 'Christians' are hypocrites (pretending to be Christ-like but inwardly evil..........

On the other hand, a lot of Non-Christians are quite Christ like (obeying the 10 commandments and caring for their neighbours etc)

Only God knows the hearts of men!

  3. @LDP Oh yes I know Donnie's song...that's interesting that you were hearing that song in your head before hand...maybe God is tryna say sumfin eyy...lol jus kiddin...

    @Jaycee lolest

@NIL true but sad coz it really shouldn't be that way. Christians should be the very people that lead by example.

  4. I especially love the last part...'Hush, child,' He said,
    'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'
I learnt from my Bible that with the same measure you give out, you will receive. If you do not want to be judged, don't judge others. Period!

  14. I love this. So deep. Especially this part:

    Every saint has a PAST...
    Every sinner has a FUTURE!
Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil...
    It has no point!

Honestly, we shouldn't judge others. The Bible has commanded that. I always pray that God helps us see others the way that He sees them so we don't sit on our high horse and judge. Bless you for sharing
